This September marks a milestone we once only dreamed of: Community Builders is turning 10!
What started in 2016 as a grassroots response to the housing crisis and trades shortage has grown into a multi-region movement. From our home base in Barrie to our expansion into Muskoka, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie, our mission has remained the same: Building with Purpose.
A Decade of Impact
Over the last decade, we’ve learned that you can’t solve the housing crisis without solving the trades shortage. By focusing on legal secondary suites—the fastest way to add new housing units—and providing our 12-week paid trades training program, we’ve seen:
- 380+ Trainees launched into meaningful careers.
- 90% Employment rate for our graduates.
- Hundreds of housing units created for our neighbors.
